About the Event
Abortion is a reproductive right and is essential for the health and autonomy of women and those who become pregnant. Reproductive justice requires access to abortion, contraception, reproductive and health services, education, housing, and economic security to allow women to decide if, when, and how they will have children. Abortion restrictions disproportionately harm poor women and women of color and increase health inequities. As public health workers, we deplore the harm that this loss of reproductive rights will cause to those most in need of health protections. Our FVPC will be supporting the efforts of the Maternal & Child Health Section for a demonstration of public health workers against the Supreme Court Dobbs abortion decision and continuing attacks on reproductive justice across the country. The event will be outside the Convention Center entrance on Summer Street immediately after the opening session of APHA Annual Meeting.
